Tata Hitachi Machine has recently introduced the compact excavator ZAXIS 40U which is ideal for excavation and material handling applications in confined areas. Its zero tail swing design allows operators to operate near obstacles, without requiring a wide working area.

It has a Yanmar 3TNV88 engine with a capacity of 22.0 kW (29.9 PS) at 2400 rpm. ZAXIS 40U offers two arm options of 1.32 metres and 1.72 metres. Depending on the arm selected, maximum digging depth reaches 3460 mm while maximum digging reach extends to 5520 mm. Therefore, operators can select the configuration according to the excavation requirement.

The compact machine also comes with a 300 mm track shoe width and an overall width of 1740 mm. As a result, it can move and operate across relatively tight work areas. Its boom can swing 72 Degree to the left and 62 Degree to the right, adding further flexibility during excavation.
