In a strategic move to improve regional connectivity and support the upcoming International Film City in Noida’s Sector 21, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has commenced construction of two key ramps on the Yamuna Expressway near Bhagpur village. The ramps are being built at the 26.4-kilometre mark from the expressway’s zero point.
The ₹3.5 crore project is a significant part of YEIDA’s ongoing efforts to create seamless road infrastructure supporting the creative economy and integrated urban development along the Yamuna Expressway corridor.
The overall project includes the construction of four ramps, with two ramps being developed in the first phase. The remaining two will be constructed in the second phase, planned at a similar cost.
As per YEIDA officials:
These ramps are expected to be completed within one year, providing a direct and uninterrupted connection to Film City from the Yamuna Expressway.
The location for these interchanges has been strategically chosen near Bhagpur village, where an underpass has already been constructed to facilitate smoother vehicular movement. This infrastructure setup is expected to significantly decongest the nearby areas and reduce travel time for vehicles accessing the Film City.
YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh stated, “This direct access is being built to ensure smooth connectivity to the Film City, which currently lacks any direct link to the Yamuna Expressway. The underpass at Bhagpur will further aid in uninterrupted traffic movement.”
To aid in ongoing preparation works at the Film City site, YEIDA has also constructed two road links from the 130-meter-wide service road. The Film City project, which spans 1,000 acres, will initially cover 230 acres in its first phase, with a planned investment of ₹1,510 crore over eight years.
This development not only improves accessibility but also plays a pivotal role in supporting logistics, workforce movement, and construction operations at the site.
Following the approval of Master Plan 2031 by the Uttar Pradesh government, YEIDA has begun working on a new urban development project titled ‘New Agra Urban Center’. Spread over 12,000 hectares, this proposed city in Mathura and Agra will focus on:
This aligns with YEIDA’s broader vision of transforming the Yamuna Expressway corridor into a multi-functional urban growth zone supporting creative industries, smart infrastructure, and modern city planning.
The construction of ramps on the Yamuna Expressway marks a key infrastructure milestone that will directly benefit the International Film City and set the foundation for smarter, well-connected development in the region. With road connectivity now being addressed, Film City is positioned to emerge as a landmark creative and economic hub in Uttar Pradesh.
At the same time, YEIDA’s vision for the New Agra Urban Center reflects long-term planning geared towards balanced urban growth, enhanced mobility, and modern residential ecosystems along one of North India’s most important development corridors.
