The Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) has issued traffic diversions on the SP Ring Road. Construction work has started on new bridges at Bakrol, Hathijan, Ramol, and Panjrapol junctions.
The project includes building PQC roads and bridges. The work is expected to last for 45 days. However, the timeline may extend due to unavoidable circumstances. Alternative routes have been assigned for commuters during this period.
Once completed, the SP Ring Road will feature 34 flyovers and underpasses, up from the current 16. These upgrades aim to improve traffic flow and enhance road safety for commuters.
Travelers are advised to follow the designated routes and plan their journeys accordingly.
The SP Ring Road in Ahmedabad is undergoing a Rs. 2,200 crore upgrade approved by the state government. This project aims to transform the 76-km stretch into a six-lane highway, easing congestion and boosting connectivity.
The project includes rebuilding old bridges over the Sabarmati River at Bhat and Komod. New flyovers and underpasses will be added at critical intersections like Aslali and Chiloda. Progress is already visible at sites like the Ognej underpass and Sindhu Bhavan junction flyover.
The project is supported by loans from the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Once completed, the SP Ring Road will feature 34 flyovers and underpasses, up from the current 16, greatly enhancing traffic flow and safety.
These upgrades promise smoother travel, reduced commute times, and a more efficient transport network. The project marks a significant milestone in Ahmedabad’s infrastructure development, benefiting commuters and the city’s economy.
