The Telangana government has announced the construction of a new greenfield radial road, which will be named Ratan Tata Road in honor of the late industrialist. This road will improve connectivity and boost infrastructure in the state. It will connect the Outer Ring Road (ORR) at Raviryal (Tata Interchange) to the proposed Regional Ring Road (RRR) at Amanagal via Future City.
This major road project aims to support urban expansion and improve transportation links, benefiting industries, businesses, and commuters. It is expected to play a crucial role in decongesting existing roads and facilitating smoother travel across Hyderabad’s surrounding areas.
The total cost of the Ratan Tata Road project is Rs 4,030 crores. The total length of the road will be 41.5 kilometres. This project is a significant investment by the state government to enhance road infrastructure and facilitate future development.
The construction of the Ratan Tata Road will be carried out in two phases, with specific allocations for each phase:
Both phases will focus on developing a high-quality, multi-lane road that meets modern transportation standards. The project will also include necessary infrastructure such as bridges, drainage systems, and safety features.
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited (HGCL) have been given the responsibility to oversee the construction and execution of the project. These agencies will ensure the road meets safety and quality standards while maintaining efficiency in the construction process.
The project is expected to enhance economic growth by improving connectivity for businesses, industrial areas, and new urban developments. It will also benefit residential zones, allowing faster and smoother transportation for daily commuters.
The tender process for the project will officially begin on February 28. Contractors and firms interested in participating in the project can find detailed information on the official HMDA website.
Once completed, the Ratan Tata Road will serve as a key transportation link, reducing travel time and congestion while supporting Hyderabad’s growing infrastructure needs. The Telangana government is committed to enhancing road networks and ensuring sustainable urban development with this ambitious project.
