Rajasthan is set to begin work on its first greenfield expressway, with bids for the 210-km Kishangarh-Kotputli corridor expected in November. The Rajasthan State Road Development and Construction Corporation (RSRDC) will handle the project, according to a TOI report.
The new expressway aims to reduce traffic pressure on the Jaipur-Ajmer Expressway and Delhi-Jaipur highway (NH-48). Vehicle movement on both routes has increased over the past two to three years.
Finance and Public Works Minister Diya Kumari announced the project on 10 July 2024. It forms part of Rajasthan's plan to develop nine greenfield expressways.
In September 2025, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma approved two corridors for construction. These include the Kishangarh-Kotputli and Beawar-Bharatpur expressways.
The Beawar-Bharatpur expressway is also moving towards construction. Tenders for this corridor are likely to be released within three to four months, the TOI report added.
RSRDC will develop four other proposed expressway corridors. These include Jaipur-Bhilwara, Ajmer-Banswara, Sri Ganganagar-Kotputli and Jalore-Jhalawar.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will handle two additional routes. These are Jaipur-Pachpadra and Bikaner-Kotputli.
