The Ministry of Railways has approved Rs. 509 crore for two major railway flyovers in Odisha. These flyovers will be constructed in the Cuttack and Rayagada districts.
Bhubaneswar: The Ministry of Railways has sanctioned Rs. 509 crore for two major railway flyovers construction in Odisha. These flyovers will be built in the Cuttack and Rayagada districts. The project is part of the Energy, Mineral & Cement Corridor Scheme. It aims to boost train movements and reduce traffic congestion on key railway routes.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, during his recent visit to Odisha, mentioned the sanction of the above rail infrastructure projects.
89 Km Rail Flyover in Cuttack District: A 10.89 km rail flyover will be built, connecting Rajathgarh, Radhakishorepur, and Machhapur railway stations in Cuttack district. This project will enhance operations by allowing simultaneous train movements and reducing cross-traffic delays. The total cost is Rs. 268.92 crore.
50 Km Rail Flyover in Rayagada District: A 5.50 km rail flyover will be constructed at Singapur Road Station in Rayagada district. It will address congestion on the Raipur-Vizianagaram rail line, enabling uninterrupted train movements. The estimated project cost is Rs. 239.83 crore.
