Chief Minister Nitish Kumar launched 76 development projects in Muzaffarpur. These projects are worth ₹451 crore and are part of the second phase of his Pragati Yatra. He announced the construction of a ring road in the eastern part of Muzaffarpur. Two road overbridges will also be built near Gobasahi and Ramdayalu Nagar rail crossings. Several roads will be widened to reduce traffic congestion.
The CM reviewed the plan for a high-level bridge over the Bagmati river. This bridge is part of the Garha (NH-57)-Hathauri-Atarar-Bawangama-Aurai road project. The total length of this project is 21 kilometers, including a 3.35-kilometer bridge. The project cost is ₹814 crore. Nitish also inspected the four-lane widening of the Muzaffarpur-Barauni section of NH-122 (old NH-28).
He also reviewed the proposed eastern ring road. This road will connect Madhoul (new NH-22) to Dighra Patti (new NH-122) and Bakhri (new NH-27). The ring road includes a 4.45-kilometer stretch from Madhoul to Dighra and a 12.55-kilometer stretch from Dighra to Bakhri. This road will help reduce congestion by allowing vehicles to bypass the city.
During his inspection, additional chief secretary Mihir Kumar Singh gave updates on the projects. Nitish directed officials to start construction immediately. He urged them to speed up ongoing projects for timely completion.
“Once these roads and bridges are completed, commuting will become much easier. This will save time and reduce traffic congestion in and around Muzaffarpur,” Nitish Kumar said.
The CM also inaugurated the new ‘Panchayat Sarkar Bhawan’ in Binda village. This facility is in Narouli gram panchayat under the Musahari block. It aims to improve local governance and public services in the area.
