Mahindra’s Construction Equipment division unveiled its latest mini compaction machine, branded COMPAX, during the EXCON trade fair at BIEC in Bengaluru on Tuesday. Designed for modern infrastructure projects, the machine represents Mahindra’s effort to expand its footprint in the compact equipment segment. The industry gathering, hosted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), also showcased the company’s CEV-V portfolio of construction machines.
The mini compactor runs on Mahindra’s trusted 2.0-litre, three-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, delivering 25bhp and 125Nm of torque. Its dual-frequency vibration modes (55/65Hz) allow operators to adjust performance based on soil type and site conditions. The 720mm drum and single-piece oscillation shaft ensure durability and consistent output during prolonged use.
Engineered under the "Made in India, Made for the World" principle, the Compax emphasises user-friendly features. It comes with a ROPS-certified canopy, ergonomically placed controls, lockable storage, and simplified maintenance access. These features aim to improve operator comfort, reduce downtime, and enhance efficiency on busy construction sites.
Dr Venkat Srinivas, Business Head of Mahindra Truck, Bus and Construction Equipment, highlighted that the mini compactor combines advanced technology with low operating costs. He added that Mahindra’s deep understanding of India’s infrastructure challenges gives the company an edge in the compact equipment market.
Alongside the Mahindra Compax, Mahindra displayed its upgraded CEV-V equipment line, designed for higher productivity and better operator experience. The company’s portfolio also features the RoadMaster motor grader, holding over 18% market share, and the EarthMaster backhoe loader, recognised for high torque and fuel efficiency.
Mahindra has grown its support network to 136+ touchpoints, including 3S dealerships, authorised service centres, sales outlets, spares retailers, and over 50 mobile service units. This expansion ensures faster and wider customer support across India.
Mahindra Construction Equipment continues to extend its international reach, with its machinery now available in more than 20 countries across Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America.
