Liebherr has just launched an exciting new lineup of mobile construction crane models. Each crane model is designed to elevate efficiency and performance on job sites.
The new MK 120-5.1 from Liebherr boasts an impressive jib that measures 52 meters. It also comes with a maximum lifting capacity of 2,100 kilograms at its jib head. This model expands Liebherr’s existing MK portfolio, filling the gap between the MK 88-4.1 and the MK 140-5.1.
One of the standout features of this crane is its agility. With a small turning circle, it allows for easy access to sites through narrow streets and intersections.
The new crane is built on the foundation of the proven MK 140-5.1. Operators familiar with this model will find it easy to transition to the new crane, requiring minimal additional training to operate effectively.
The MK 120-5.1 features the new Liebherr TC-OS display. This Tower Crane Operating System (TC-OS) user interface is designed for user-friendliness and flexible customization by the crane operator. With a 12-inch touch display, it can operate in both split and full-screen modes. It allows for diverse information to be showcased across different screen areas. This advanced display is expected to replace the current version in all mobile construction cranes by the end of 2025.
The MK 120-5.1 offers an optional smaller load hook, ideal for sites with existing buildings and scaffolding. This version excels at moving loads between the structure and the scaffolding. Changing the load hook on-site is a quick process, taking just a few minutes. Remarkably, the smaller load hook maintains the same lifting capacity as its larger counterpart. And it will also soon be available for all Liebherr mobile construction cranes.
The initial customers are already expressing high praise for the newest addition to Liebherr’s mobile construction crane lineup. According to Stephan Zaugg, Managing Director at Zaugg AG Rohrbach (Switzerland), “The MK 120-5.1 is exactly the right crane for our fleet. Its jib length and lifting capacity make it ideal for our customers’ construction sites.”
He further added,“We are excited to be the first ever customer to acquire the new MK. Reliability, customer service and the great reputation of Liebherr’s mobile construction cranes were deciding factors for our purchase.”
A company from Belgium has already placed an order for the MK 120-5.1. Deliveries are set to begin in summer 2025.
Additionally, the 14th RAHSTA Expo, part of the India Construction Festival, will take place on October 9 and 10, 2024, at the Jio Convention Centre in Mumbai.
