Liebherr has expanded its deep foundation equipment portfolio with the launch of the LMC 80 cutter soil mixer for soil mixing applications. Designed for noise-reduced and low-vibration ground improvement, the new attachment works with the LRB 23 and LRB 355 piling and drilling rigs. The company is offering the complete system as an integrated package from a single source.
The LMC 80 is designed to work in all mixable soil types for installing load-bearing and sealing elements. It features four cutting wheels powered by a maximum torque of 2×80 kilonewton metres.
Depending on ground conditions, the cutting wheels can achieve a maximum rotational speed of 30 revolutions per minute.
When paired with an extension linkage, the LRB 23 can construct ground mixing elements to depths of up to 36 metres. Meanwhile, the larger LRB 355 extends the maximum working depth to 40 metres.
Both configurations can produce panels with cross-sections ranging from 2,800 × 500 to 1,000 millimetres, depending on project requirements.
The LMC 80 can swivel 135 degrees around the mixing axis without requiring movement of the leader. This feature allows greater flexibility during on-site operations. Liebherr has also equipped the system with verticality measurement, LIPOS positioning and MyJobsite digital tools. These technologies allow operators to record, analyse and manage process, machine and jobsite data.
According to Liebherr, the LMC 80 delivers both economic and environmental benefits by mixing existing soil with a binding suspension. This process reduces the need to transport additional construction materials and excavated soil.
Liebherr introduced the LMC 80 during the 50th anniversary of Liebherr-Werk Nenzing GmbH in June 2026. The cutter soil mixer is now available.
