Bihar's Lakhisarai district is set to see improved road connectivity as two major road projects have been approved under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF). The projects, which will strengthen the rural transportation network, were sanctioned by the State Road Construction Minister, Nitin Naveen, on Friday.
The two new projects will focus on the widening and strengthening of crucial roads that connect several villages and towns in the district, improving accessibility and transportation efficiency.
The first project will involve the widening and strengthening of the 10.35-kilometer road from Halsey to Manjhwe. This stretch will be developed at a cost of ₹25.96 crore. The upgraded road will link numerous villages including Mohaddinnagar, Sethna, Beharwa, Geruapur Sanda, Shivsona, Dheera, Bardokhar, and Rata, facilitating easier access to neighboring areas and the Jamui district border. Additionally, this road will benefit students traveling to the Government Engineering College located in Shivsona.
The second project will focus on the 5.15-kilometer road connecting Vidyapith Chowk to Mohanpur, which will be widened and strengthened at a cost of ₹18.16 crore. This project will improve access to several villages such as Rehua, Kishanpur, Ramchandrapur, Pipariya, Fulwaria, Surjichak, and Rahatpur. The upgraded road will also benefit schoolchildren, particularly during the monsoon season when previous routes were often impassable.
State Road Construction Minister Nitin Naveen emphasized the importance of these projects for the overall development of Lakhisarai. He assured that the necessary tendering process would begin soon and that the work would be completed within the stipulated timeframe. Minister Naveen expressed confidence that the new roads would significantly enhance connectivity, ease of transportation, and regional development.
Nitin Naveen, Minister for Road Construction, commented, "These two projects are crucial for the development of Lakhisarai district. Once completed, they will not only improve transportation within the district but also make travel more convenient for the residents, especially for students and the farming community. Our focus is on creating sustainable infrastructure that will support the district’s growth and provide relief to the general public."
He added, "These initiatives are part of a broader effort to improve rural infrastructure across Bihar, ensuring better connectivity and accessibility for people in even the most remote areas."
These road projects underscore Bihar’s commitment to rural infrastructure development. With plans to improve transportation links, Lakhisarai is poised to experience greater connectivity, fostering regional growth and enhancing access to education, healthcare, and other essential services. As the state continues to invest in infrastructure, similar projects are expected to follow, accelerating the pace of development in rural areas across Bihar.
