The Khurramnagar flyover in Lucknow was partially opened to the public on Friday, marking a significant step toward easing traffic congestion in the area. Currently, one lane of the two-kilometre-long flyover is operational, allowing vehicles to ply from 6 am to 6 pm, while finishing touches on the structure continue.
This development aims to smoothen connectivity between major city routes, offering direct access to key locations such as the Polytechnic Flyover, Munshi Puliya, Engineering College Flyover, and IIM Road Flyover.
The Khurramnagar flyover is poised to significantly improve the traffic scenario in Lucknow. With vehicles from Tedhi Puliya accessing the bridge's right lane, traffic bottlenecks are expected to reduce.
Raghvendra Shukla, PRO to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, noted:
"The second lane is expected to open in the coming week. This modern flyover, constructed without any accidents, will transform traffic flow in the area once fully operational."
Additionally, the official inauguration is likely to include notable dignitaries such as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari.
The Khurramnagar flyover, with its innovative design and advanced construction methods, is expected to alleviate traffic congestion in densely populated areas like Jankipuram, Sector-25, and Bandha Road. The project emphasizes safety and modern infrastructure, setting a benchmark for upcoming urban development projects in Lucknow.
As the second lane gears up for opening, residents can look forward to smoother commutes and a positive impact on the city's overall traffic management.
This flyover represents not only a structural achievement but also a commitment to enhancing urban mobility, benefiting both residents and businesses in Lucknow.
