The much-anticipated 2.8 km Mango flyover in Jamshedpur is progressing rapidly. The project, which began on September 6, is set to be completed in 18 months. Designed to improve connectivity and traffic flow, the flyover will feature a four-lane stretch on Dimna Road and a two-lane section on Purulia Road.
The flyover is being built to ease traffic congestion in Mango and surrounding areas. A major junction will be constructed at the Mango roundabout, ensuring smoother traffic from Dimna Road and Purulia Road. Executive Engineer Deepak Sahay confirmed the updates, sharing that pillar piling on Dimna Road is complete. Construction has now shifted to the Swarnarekha River and Sakchi ends.
The Mango roundabout will serve as a critical junction. The design aims to handle increased traffic volumes efficiently. This is expected to benefit commuters on Dimna Road, Purulia Road, and nearby areas.
Executive Engineer Deepak Sahay stated, “The flyover will offer significant relief to Mango residents, easing traffic congestion and improving connectivity between Sakchi, Mango, and Dimna Road.”
He also highlighted that the section from Dimna Road to Sakchi will have four lanes, while the stretch from Mango to Purulia Road, near Payal Cinema, will have two lanes.
The total estimated cost for the project is Rs 461 crore, with Rs 252 crore allocated for the first phase. The rapid pace of construction has garnered widespread praise from residents. Locals are optimistic that the flyover will resolve Mango’s long-standing traffic issues and boost connectivity in the region.
