The Ministry of Railways has approved Rs 509 crore for two major railway flyovers in Cuttack and Rayagada, Odisha. This project is part of the Energy, Mineral & Cement Corridor Scheme. The initiative aims to enhance train operations and reduce congestion on key railway lines.
Sources say this project is part of Indian Railways' Energy, Mineral & Cement Corridor Scheme. It aims to enhance train operations and reduce traffic congestion on key railway lines.
The project involves building a 10.89 km rail flyover connecting Rajathgarh, Radhakishorepur, and Machhapur Railway Stations in Cuttack. This infrastructure will improve operations by allowing simultaneous train movements, reducing delays from cross-traffic. The total project cost is Rs 268.92 crore.
A 5.50 km rail flyover will be built at Singapur Road Station in Rayagada. This project aims to ease traffic congestion on the Raipur-Vizianagaram Rail Line. It will enable uninterrupted train movements, avoiding delays from cross-traffic. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 239.83 crore.
The new flyovers will enable simultaneous train movements from multiple directions. This will enhance train operation efficiency across the region.
The flyovers will solve operational challenges by eliminating cross-traffic. This will reduce delays and inefficiencies at key junctions like Singapur Road Station, Rajathgarh, Radhakishorepur, and Machhapur.
The projects will reduce congestion in the Nergundi-Cuttack-Barang-Rajathgarh area and the Rayagada-Singapur Road corridor. This will lead to smoother train operations and faster travel times. With fewer delays and improved flow, the new rail flyovers will enhance the travel experience for passengers in these regions.
