Haryana Minister Rao Narbir Singh recently announced a set of huge plans for road and infrastructural development in Gurugram over the next five years. It is said that the connectivity and road network will be highly enhanced to give a foundation for the prosperous future of the city.
An elevated road will be constructed from the Gurugram-Jaipur National Highway to Vatika Chowk, accompanied by four flyovers stretching from Vatika Chowk to Ghata. The project is estimated to cost around Rs 800 crore. It will be executed by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA). A detailed project report has already been prepared. There is a pre-estimate of starting the work soon.
Dr Singh addressed a public gathering at Vatika City in Sector 49. He spoke to residents about the government's commitment to making Gurugram a beautiful and clean city. Mr Roa said that residents' opinions would top the list in all development projects over the next five years.
Singh also said the government's promise to deliver its promises as reflected in the 'Sankalp Patra' and ordered officials to implement government schemes for the citizens' complete benefits effectively. He pointed out that one should fulfil all requirements for the proper completion of any development project.
Furthermore, Singh responded to several local concerns, including the demand for a community centre at Close South in Sector 50. He announced that construction of the community centre would begin within two months. Further, Mr Roa also addressed complaints about encroachment on the green belt from Vatika Chowk to Ghata.
District town planner RS Bhath has been appointed as the nodal officer to clear the encroachments, with a deadline set for January 31 to free the 12 km stretch from unauthorized occupation. These measures reflect the government’s proactive approach to addressing residents' needs and enhancing Gurugram’s infrastructure.
