Telangana ready to Launch ₹5,413 Crore Highway Projects in Telangana

Major Boost to Telangana’s Road Connectivity and Regional Development

Union Roads, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari and Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy are set to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for national highway projects worth ₹5,413 crore across Hyderabad and Adilabad on May 5, 2025. The move marks a major step towards strengthening Telangana’s road network and enhancing intra-state connectivity.

• Foundation stone laying for 20.87 km highways worth ₹657.27 crore

Hyderabad Regional Ring Road Declared as National Highway

In a significant decision, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has in principle agreed to declare the Hyderabad Regional Ring Road (Southern Portion) as a National Highway.
However, the State Government must bear 50% of the land acquisition costs for this approval to take effect.

Key Details:

• Estimated Construction Cost: ₹13,000 crore
• 50% Land Acquisition Cost: ₹2,230 crore

This declaration is expected to fast-track the project’s execution, providing a critical boost to Telangana’s road infrastructure.

Push for Northern Expressway Approval

Additionally, G. Kishan Reddy has urged for the early approval from the Public Private Partnership Appraisal Committee (PPPAC) and Cabinet for the Greenfield Regional Express Highway on Northern Hyderabad (HRRR-NP).

He has emphasized the importance of signing the financial tripartite agreement to move the project forward swiftly.
