FADA Records 5,088 Construction Equipment Retail Sales in May 2026

According to the latest data released by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), retail sales of construction equipment in India stood at 5,088 units in May 2026. This represents a 17.51% year-on-year (YoY) decline compared to 6,168 units sold in May 2025.

Brand-Wise Construction Equipment Sales Report for May 2026

JCB India Limited

JCB India retained its leadership position in the construction equipment market, selling 2,265 units in May 2026. However, sales declined from 2,414 units in May 2025, resulting in a 6.17% YoY drop.

Action Construction Equipment Ltd (ACE)

ACE reported sales of 632 units in May 2026, down from 712 units a year earlier, marking an 11.24% YoY decline.

Escorts Kubota Limited (Construction Equipment)

Escorts Kubota sold 401 units during the month, compared to 378 units last year, registering a 6.08% YoY increase.

AJAX Engineering Ltd

AJAX Engineering recorded 388 units in May 2026, down from 465 units in May 2025. This translated into a 16.56% YoY decline.

Bull Machines Pvt Ltd

Bull Machines emerged as one of the gainers, selling 179 units during the month, compared to 139 units in May 2025, marking a 28.78% YoY increase.

CASE New Holland Construction Equipment (India) Pvt Ltd

CASE India posted sales of 128 units in May 2026, down from 180 units in May 2025, reflecting a 28.89% YoY decline.

Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery Company Pvt Ltd

Tata Hitachi recorded sales of 120 units, down from 222 units last year, resulting in a 45.95% YoY decline.

Caterpillar India Private Limited

Caterpillar reported 115 units in May 2026, down from 168 units a year earlier, reflecting a 31.55% YoY decline.

M/s Schwing Stetter (India) Private Limited

Schwing Stetter recorded sales of 104 units, down from 109 units last year, registering a 4.59% YoY decline.

All Terrain Crane Segment

All Terrain Crane witnessed a slowdown, with sales falling to 71 units in May 2026 from 103 units a year ago, registering a 31.07% YoY decline.

LiuGong India Pvt. Ltd

LiuGong India recorded sales of 71 units during the month, compared to 148 units in May 2025, marking a 52.03% YoY decline.

Others

The "Others" category reported 614 units in May 2026, compared to 1,130 units in May 2025, reflecting a 45.66% YoY decline.
