Caterpillar Inc., the world’s top company in construction and mining equipment, is proudly celebrating 100 years of its global journey. The company is also marking over 50 years of operations in India. Over the years, Caterpillar has played an important role in building the world’s infrastructure, including in India.
Caterpillar has been present in India for more than five decades. During this time, the company has helped in the growth of the country’s infrastructure and industries. From the 1930s, Caterpillar machines have been part of major Indian projects like the Bhakra Nangal Dam, the Atal Tunnel, and the Purvanchal Expressway. These projects show how Caterpillar has supported India’s development journey.
Bhuvan Anandakrishnan, Country Manager and Vice President of Caterpillar India, shared that the company’s success comes from its focus on customers and innovation. “He said the employees are the real strength behind this achievement. Their efforts have not only helped India’s progress but also made a global impact. Caterpillar is committed to building a better and smarter future.”
As part of its 100-year celebration, Caterpillar has pledged $100 million globally over the next five years. This fund will help train people with modern skills to match the fast-changing world. In addition, Caterpillar continues to support India’s aim to become a major global manufacturer with the help of advanced technology and skilled talent.
