The Assam government decided to construct a new flyover in Dibrugarh's Amolapatty junction. The meeting of the state cabinet on 23rd February was presided over by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Dibrugarh is among the key commercial and educational hubs of Upper Assam. In recent years, road traffic has been growing, with increased vehicles plying on the road, which causes heavy traffic congestion. Due to this, travelling within the city becomes time-consuming, with residents and businesses being delayed.
The new flyover construction will facilitate easier and quicker travel, minimise traffic jams, and enhance road safety for all. Further, improved connectivity will favour businesses, students, and daily commuters.
In addition to the flyover, the Assam cabinet also made a significant decision to enhance the state's Biotechnology Policy. The improvement is intended to strengthen research, industrial development, and new business opportunities in the biotechnology industry.
With these new advances, Assam is progressing towards improved infrastructure and development.
